About This Spot

Stepping into Vermuteria la Raspa feels like being welcomed into a cherished corner of Barcelona’s Sarrià-Sant Gervasi neighborhood—an inviting bar & grill where the rhythm is unhurried, and the connection to the sea is palpable. The space hums with a warm, casual energy; a place where locals settle into easy conversation over glasses of vermouth and plates passed around with genuine camaraderie. It’s not just about dining, but about sharing moments that linger beyond the meal.

The atmosphere here is relaxed yet attentive, as if time slows down just enough for you to savor each bite and sip. The genuine friendliness of the staff wraps around you alongside the soft clinking of glasses and quiet chatter, creating a comforting backdrop for both weekday lunches and more leisurely evenings.

Seafood is the heart of the experience, curated with care and a sense of respect for freshness and tradition. The visual allure of the “mostrador de pescado a la vista” invites an element of discovery, where you can witness the raw bounty before it's transformed into dishes that speak of the Mediterranean’s generosity. Roasted fish with a salt-crust, succulent gambas straight from the plancha, and delicate bites like croquettes or buñuelos come together on the table, inviting shared exploration and delight. There’s a balance here between the familiar and the unexpected—a pulpo a la gallega that comforts, alongside cúpulas of mango and fruits that surprise and refresh.

Though tucked away from the busiest city paths, Vermuteria la Raspa carries the intimate, slightly refined feel of a neighborhood treasure, prized for its honest approach to food and relaxed service. The blend of tradition and warmth makes it the kind of place where visitors and locals alike can pause, reconnect, and enjoy the kind of thoughtful attentiveness that elevates simple ingredients into memorable experiences.

I visited this place with my parents on a weekday for lunch. Instead of going for the 'menu de dia' we decided to share a few starters and a full fish between the 3 of us. Quality of the starters was really good and the same goes for the fish cooked in the oven and covered with salt. Service was quick, attentive and friendly. The only reason to maybe give 4 and not 5 is the price. I wouldn't say it is expensive but it is not cheap either, somewhere in-between.

If you're a seafood lover, if you love fish cooked in many tasty ways, this is a place to return to. This is why I came back her after one year, while visiting family in Barcelona. Fish soup was first on my order list, and then we had a large white fish for two, made to perfection, on the grill, it was so properly made that consumed even the head of the fish, eyes included... you might not like this if you're not a fish gourmand... good wine, good side dishes and we nearly waked out from the restaurant. Excellent service, decent prices... what else do you want?

One of my absolute favorite spots in Barcelona is this amazing seafood place! The food is delicious, the service is friendly, and the ambiance is just perfect. If you’re in the city, you definitely have to check it out!

My fav fav place to go for mussels a la marinera and red prawns that are always fresh, even though expensive, NEVER they were dry or wrong. Perfect combination of fresh seafood and good service.

Outside from city center you can find a nice vermuteria and tapas as well. Really good food and wine selection.

Nice space, with inside space and tables and barrels outside along the street and around the corner so you can choose sun or share. Tapas were fine, but not special.
